Content lead for the grammar and vocabulary strands of Macmillan’s flagship adaptive learning online course. Responsible for ensuring high standards of digital publishing in line with course pedagogy and editorial guidelines through management of a mini-team and participation in content lead meetings and editorial workshops. Effectively contributed to the development of course pedagogy and concepts, including planning the scope and sequence of elements of the course, conceptualising the vocabulary pedagogy and practice methodology, undertaking competitor analyses and research and development, writing author briefs and scoping global course tools. Effective line management of a mini-team of in-house and freelance development editors, as well as management of freelance authors.

Freelance Development Editor, Hachette UK (2014-2016): freelance development editor working on a range of titles in the bestselling Teach Yourself language learning series, including Japanese, Korean and Hindi titles.

ELT Editor, Scholastic UK (2010-2014): editor of CLUB, Scholastic’s ELT magazine aimed at secondary-age learners of English. Overseeing publishing process from concept to print, managing freelance designers and picture editors. Writing ELT teacher’s notes to accompany each issue. Web Editor for Scholastic’s ELT website. Writing online weekly news articles at five CEFR levels, producing multimedia content (including off-site filming and video interviews) and commissioning and project managing the development of over two hundred online interactive flash language activities per year.
